Norway: The Home of Adventure
Ever since I lived in Voss Norway for a summer, I have fallen in love with the country. It offers so much to the outdoor explorer. From mountains, to rivers, lakes and sea, there is so much to see, experience and explore. I headed back to Voss for 10 days this summer, hoping to enjoy a little white water, hiking and the amazing Ekstrem Sport Veko. (which I talk about here in my blog.)
Norway is huge, and it would be impossible to have explored the whole country. I have spent my time exploring the areas around Bergen, Voss and Sjoa. Out of all of them Voss is where my hear is.
About an hour east of Bergen you can catch the train or bus in towards the fjords. Voss is a stopover point on the 'Norway in a Nutshell Tour' a single tour which shows you some of the spectacular sights of Norway.
At the End of June you will find Ekstrem Sport Veko. For one week of the year elite extreme sport athletes descend on the small town. A huge tent is put up, music is played and people fall from the sky, down waterfalls and off mountains. It is a whirl wind festival where spectators are just as entertained as the athletes. Each night everyone gathers in the tent to watch the days video. For a taster watch the linked video bellow.
