When I look through my pictures sometimes they remind me of memories, sometime they remind me of people, places or special times. But occasionally they remind me of traits, parts of my character I can be proud of. I am proud to be an Outdoor Girl and these are some of the elements I think that make us who we are.
Our rosy cheeks don't require blusher, rucksacks are for carrying gear, and mascara just runs when you go for a spontaneous wild swim. But you can't say we're not still beautiful, if a little ruff around the edges.
Expeditions don't normally come with hot water, so instead a buff, hood or head band, will just have to do. In fact, this bed head, has taken all night to get right.
We can't help that kayaking requires muscles, Climbing builds abs, and running tones our legs. The outdoors is our gym and you need to be strong in this outdoor world. Be warned we are secretly demons at arm wrestling.
You get one bag, to live out of for a week. Yes, two t-shirts and one pair of socks can last a whole week. Hair dryers, straighteners, skinny jeans and three different pairs of heels, aren't required in the wilderness.
Looking cool is a priority, which falls bellow being practical. Wearing three jackets does make us look fat, but at least we're warm and snuggling during a snow storm.
All we need if a flat patch of ground, a tarp and a sleeping bag, and we can call this home for the night. Jumpers make great pillows and grass can add extra padding. Sleeping beneath the stars is a treat not a chore.
Yep, we will try almost anything. If the boys can do it so can we! Maybe we are more willing to admit when we are scared, but that doesn't stop us form committing and going for it.
Yes sometimes we bite off more than we can chew, or in this case loose my front tooth. Tears may fall from our eyes as we pick ourselves up, but we wipe them away and get ready to try again.
Live for the moment, embrace what life throws our way. Smile and laugh, share good times with friends. Say yes, more than No, and smile when things are hard. We just purely love life!
As soon as we could walk, our favourite pair of shoes were our welly boots. If my brother could have a John Deer boiler suit, then surly so could I. The beach was always for rock pooling, swimming, playing and building sandcastles. Beetles and spiders are cool, mud pies are fun, and tree houses are way better than doll houses. Fact!
