Fear of the unknown is natural, and recently looking at my blank diary for this coming summer the anxiety set in. I have been making a lot of changes recently, wanting new challenges in deferent places, and the uncertainty of freelance work is at the forefront of my mind. I may even go as far as saying I was stressing about it!
When in actual fact, this is such a negative view point. Surly having an open diary is opening you up to new opportunities. Having the freedom to say YES, when the right one comes along.
I have spent the day driving a bus too and fro the airport, squeezed in a sanity ski, and currently pondering over a cup of hot chocolate, whilst waiting for my next transfer (the not so glamorous work side of Chamonix life). Driving gets me thinking about life, money and generally all those worries which circulate around my head.
"Open up to Opportunity"
As my adventures get bigger, they require more pennies, and they also take bigger chunks of time, ultimately taking me away from potential earning opportunities. Without adventure, I struggle to be me. Without money, I can’t adventure. Without work, I can’t earn money to do adventures.
Do you see a viscous cycle appearing here?
Worrying about the fact that I haven't got 6 months of solid bookings isn't a big deal. Instead I’ve actually opened myself up to opportunities. Opportunities which when I’m fully booked and working long 6 day weeks, I can never say yes too.
I've Been here before.....
I’m sitting here now, having joked with my boyfriend about rowing, kayaking and sailing three oceans and calling it an Oceanathlon. Well why the hell not! It's possible.
Please see a little of my untameable adventure imagination below...
My future is not fully booked. But instead it is open to opportunity. All I have to do is say "YES" when they come my way. Keep positive and know that everything will fall into place, it always does.
Change the way you think…… Open up to Opportunity.
